Reagan's First Movie

Yesterday, I took Reagan to her first movie.  This is the only non-blurry picture I was able to take since I didn't have my camera and had to use my phone.  Beside Reagan is her best friend and neighbor Kathryn.  She LOVES Kathryn.  We went to see Madagascar 2.  It was such a cute and funny movie that even I enjoyed it.  When we first arrived she had fun playing on all the games and then it was time to go to the theater.  As she entered and started going up the steps, she fell a part.  "I want to go home to my Daddy and Madison!"  She repeated over and over.  She was so scared because it was dark and she was climbing up to take a seat.  Then she couldn't keep the seat down so it was eating her.  Poor thing.  I just held her until the movie started and then she calmed down and wanted to stay.  She loved it!  Oh, and the popcorn and sprite was a big hit too, :).

Dehydration

Today I decided to go to the pool with both girls solo.  It takes me 30 minutes to get everyone dressed and suntan lotion on.  It's actually so much work just trying to get to the pool that I find myself not taking the girls very much.  Reagan was grousing that she was thirsty and Madison was screaming for something.  So I made each one a full sippy cup of cold water and they sat right in front of the fridge inhaling their water.  It was so cute because Madison would copy Reagan.  Every time Reagan would drink she would and every time she brought her cup down Madison did the same.

We finally made it to the pool but before we even got into the water Reagan went to the bathroom.  I had no time to get this flotation suit off of her to the potty and of course I didn't bring another swim diaper so home we went.  It will be awhile girls before mom tries this again on her on.

CSA

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.  Friends have been telling me for years to sign up for CSA and I could pick up my vegetables each week near my house.  My thought at first was I didn't know if I would like it.  I wasn't really sure how it worked or the quantity and quality of the produce.

So last week was suppose to be our first pick-up.  However, my stepmom had surgery and I left to go to the Baptist hosptial to be with her.  So I drove my husband to the site and showed him where to go to pick it up.  I also reminded him the next morning.  When I called to see if he got it, he forgot but swung by at 6:30 to see.  No one was there.  The pick-up is from 4-6:00pm.  He told me and I was so sad because they are so strict about losing your box if you don't pick it up.  So, Andy felt bad and emailed the owner.  She told us we loss that box but could double up next week.

Next week came and today I had a plan to go pick it up before my bible study.  BUT, my bible study was canceled.  Then I was working out with a friend the last two days and had to drive by the spot after our workout.  Hey that's easy right.  Well, then my friend called and had to cancel.  Finally, I told myself to pick it up before getting the kids from daycare.  Then I got in my car to go and realized my husband had my daughter's car seat.  So I was so up in arms trying to figure out how to get her home I completely forgot the vegetables!

Maybe this CSA isn't meant to be for us.  However, we've already paid a hefty sum and I must press on.  I came home and emailed the owner to see if I could drive to the farm tomorrow to pick up my box.  No word yet, but I really hope she says yes.

I find myself to be such a person of structure.  If my schedule is not structured then I absolutely don't remember things.  The summer time when I am not working there are days I don't even know what day it is.  This is great at times.  However, I've been missing a lot of things and haven't been that productive lately.  Well, if I ever do get my vegetables I will let you know how they are.  Until then pray that the owner will let me pick them up tomorrow.

Thanks!

A visit with Cousins

There's nothing better in Reagan's mind than spending time with her cousins Jake and Savannah.  I wish they lived closer because if they did we would be there a lot!  Reagan adores her cousins and this visit Papa and Mamaw were there because Mamaw was having surgery.  It wasn't so much fun for Mamaw but it was great to have the grandchildren there for my Dad.  Mamaw had a good surgery and is still healing.  It was nice that my brother took off work and we spent the day together.  My sister-in-law Shannon and I were able to visit and play with the kids during the day and then we switched with Papa and Ryan at bedtime so we could run to the hospital.  The kiddos never even missed us momma's.  Too much fun.

Tweetsie

TWEETSIE

Who doesn't enjoy a good visit to the old park Tweetsie?  Tweetsie is the name of the premier attraction which is an old train.  My mom decided that the trip to see the train would be great and it just happened to be on her 65th birthday.  We had a great celebration on her birthday and enjoyed the fact that it was a special Dora weekend at the park.

This was Reagan's second visit to park.  Last year, Reagan would have nothing to do with it or the rides.  She mainly enjoyed the shows and the mouse train.  This year we took full advantage of the special "Dora" weekend.  Dora is Reagan's favorite character.  She is a Hispanic girl who speaks both English and Spanish.  Tweetsie had a 30 minute show with the characters who sang all the popular songs from the shows.  The songs have motions such as fly like the condors.    Reagan absolutely loved it.  She then took her picture with Dora and Diego.

After, we finished visiting with Dora, we took to the park.  First thing Reagan wanted to do was to ride the train.  This amazed me because she was not scared at all.  She loved it.  We then took in shows.  She even volunteered for the magic show and the Hopper and Porter show.  I had to go up with her for the magic show but it was just to lock the handcuffs.  Thank goodness I didn't have to do anything more.

We ended the day riding the rides, going on the train, and finally getting our picture with Dora once more.  Reagan even rode on the scrambler which is an adult ride.  I was amazed at how brave she was and that she loved the fast spinning pace.  Heights? no problem!  Reagan took to the ferris wheel like a pro.  It was so much fun going with my mom and my daughter.  I remember going with my Mom to the parks when I was young.  It's just so different when your the mom.  I enjoyed seeing Reagan so excited more than the rides.  My whole perspective on enjoying the park has changed.  I use to be determined when I entered a park to accomplish as much as I could.  Now, I just relax and enjoy watching my little girl.

My mom and my daughter are such blessings.  I am so fortunate to have them both in my life.  Thanks to both of you for a great day!

Beach with Papa and Mama

This year it was our turn to have a week at the beach with Papa (my Dad) and Mama(my stepmom).  We use to go every year but then my brother and I had kids and needed more space.  This year was the best one that we have had.  We all agreed!  Dad listened to my advice about the moving to a different room which had twice as much living space.  When you have babies on vacation you have to get a nice room with as much space as possible since you will be in it 75% of the time.  Our condo had three bedrooms with two masters that opened up to the ocean.  It was wonderful!

We took in the pool and beach daily.  Dad also took us to a show called Le Grand Cirque where we saw extraordinary acrobatics. Of course, Papa definitely wanted to take Reagan to build-a-bear.  Thank goodness we did this on the second day because I really didn't bring many toys for her and she was able to play with her bear "Pagley" all week. She named this adorable bear after her friend at church "Hadley".

Andy and I were celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary so Dad babysat while we went to Chestnut Hill.  This is my favorite restaurant in Myrtle which we often go to when we are down there.  They have the best early bird special and we were able to sit looking out at the water.  The restaurant throws bread from atop the roof to make the turtles and fish come right up to where we are eating.  The big surprise is when the alligators come around!  Each night we stayed in and made mixed drinks, went to the hot tub, and relaxed.  It was so nice.  We were also there for the 4th of July and we saw fireworks all the way down the beach as we sat in the hot tub with the bubbles all around us.  Very nice and romantic!  Thanks to my wonderful Dad and step-mom for a great week!  We love you!
